Terms of Service

Last Updated: March 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using PsychLog ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App. If you are using the App on behalf of a residency program or institution, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

2. Description of Service

PsychLog is a web-based encounter logging tool for psychiatry residents and training programs. The App allows users to log de-identified patient encounters, track clinical experience across rotations, generate reports, and export data. The App is provided "as is" for educational and training purposes.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information during registration and to update your profile if your information changes (e.g., advancing PGY year). You must not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of others without their consent.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use PsychLog only for its intended purpose: logging de-identified patient encounters for residency training. You agree NOT to:

5. Data Ownership

You retain ownership of the encounter data you enter into PsychLog. You grant PsychLog LLC a limited license to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the service. We may use aggregate, anonymized data (which cannot identify any individual user or patient) for service improvement and reporting.

6. Institutional Subscriptions

Residency programs may subscribe to PsychLog's institutional plan, which provides program-level aggregate analytics. Institutional administrators will only have access to anonymized, aggregate data. Individual encounter details and notes remain private to each resident. Programs may not require residents to share individual encounter data as a condition of employment or training.

7. Free and Paid Services

PsychLog offers a free tier for individual residents that includes full encounter logging, statistics, and export functionality. Institutional plans with additional features such as the Program Director Dashboard are available for a subscription fee. Pricing is available at psychlog.app. We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

PsychLog is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. PsychLog is not a medical device, not a substitute for official medical record systems, and not HIPAA-compliant (because it is designed to never contain PHI). We are not responsible for any clinical decisions made based on data in the App.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PsychLog LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or professional consequences. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@psychlog.app. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes via the App or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Douglas County, Nebraska.
